The light of the Dawn

Poem by me.

I will hold you close, to keep you warm.
And when they come to take me,
Tell them all the things I’ve said to thee.
For death is not needless, but nether are thine words.
Hold all I have said to your heart.
There, I will dwell ever, even in the darkest hour.
Til the dawn breaks, but you’re spirit holds.
Yay, even as the sky falls on thine shoulders,
Hold close, little one, these things you have been told.
These things that have made you’re spirit grow old.
Hold them ever, dear sister.
As mist swirls around thine feet, hold them, my sister, hold them.
No words of comfort will you meet on this darkened road,
And fears will beseech thee, ’Come, I am your sister. Follow me to my abode.’
And your tears, it will see and lick them up.
But no! Dear sister, no!
Away with thine tears!
Behold, another little one follows thee,
Ever watchful to thee.
Will you not care for the little one,
Who has strayed so far from her home?
And as the dark One see you both,
Shun him, pay him little heed.
For you and she did not come so far to be defeated by thieves!
I wish to see you, but your road is long.
In the passing memory will we behold our sisters.
Laden with grief, let it not be.
I will see thee soon, dear sister.
And hold your young one close,
Until they come to take you away.
For both of you shall see the light dawning,
The dawning of the day.
